Christmas time is the best time of year. It is the time when we gather with family and friends. I have loved this Christmas season. Everyone has come home for the holidays and it makes me realise how much I truly miss high school. I miss seeing my friends every day and building those friendships. I had the best group of friends in High School. We were all nutty and quirky teenagers who's idea of a Saturday night was a movie night at my house. I miss those times. Now almost everyone has gone away to school or on missions. I never really thought about what life would be like without that steady group of friends. My weekends now consist of hanging out with Roxy and Kaitlyn, eating Yoko Fast Food and watching the Game Show Network. We are totally living on the edge.

Do you wanna move to China?
Caitlin "Let's do some math."
Dallin "No."
Caitlin "Let's do some reading."
Dallin "No."
Caitlin "We have to do some math or reading skills before we play Wii sports"
Dallin "I wished I lived in a country where people would just repect me. That's all I ask for."
It really is all about the respect with him. I love it. :) :) :)

Another quote
So as I had said before in a previous post, I work with a boy with Autism. I took him to Wal Mart the other day so we could have a look in the toy section. As I was trying to find a parking spot I said "I wonder why it's so busy here today?" not really asking a question but just thinking out loud. He then answered and said "They must have heard you can live better and save more at Wal Mart."
Such a factual kid.

Take care TCB!
I have been working with a boy with autism for a couple months now and I am absolutely in love with him. I am learning so much and can only hope that he is too. He is very funny and smart. He can have his moments but the good always dominate the not so good.
A couple week ago, I was watching him and getting him ready for bed. He is a 10 year old boy completely infatuated with video games and his Nintendo DS. I asked him a couple times "please get ready for bed, you have been playing for a while now and it's time to turn the Nintendo off." A little bit went by and I asked him again. He looked at me and asked "can't you respect me for just one minute woman?!" I told him that I did respect him and now it was his turn to respect me and turn off the game and go to bed. He then turned to me and said "I am the man and you are the woman. Learn how to respect a man. Just respect a man!"
Last night we went to his grandmas house and he started playing the Nintendo again. He played a while and when I came in to tell him it was time to go he looked at me again and said "Again with the respect."
I apparently need to learn how to give some R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

Where have all the good men gone and where are all the guys?
Taylor and I
Last Sunday was one of my best friends farewell. We have known each other since about 6th grade but have been really good friends since 9th. It was the first missionary farewell that I have been to where I am actually saying goodbye to a best friend. I am at the age now where all the boys that I pretty much know are all leaving! What am I supposed to do now? I love going to the YSA activities but it's been hard getting to know people. I am finding that return missionaries tend to be a bit....wierd. It's always awkward trying to talk to them. It's not like I am looking for a husband right now but I least want some guy friends. The only thing that I really do on weekends now is hang out with a couple of my friends and watch a movie or stay at home by myself and watch a movie. I need a life.

It's been a while....
I haven't posted in a while. Here are just a few things going on in my life.
-I am still sad that I am home from Australia and wish I were still there.
-I am loving the weather right now, especially at night.
-I am back to the real world which means I am required to get a job.
-I am not going to school right now (only a couple more months though, thank goodness) so most days consist of cleaning around the house, going to Walmart to look around and watching re-runs of That 70's Show and E! News.
-I have recently gone through training and am now certified to do habilitation and respite for people with special needs and autism.
-I am starting to work with a little boy in my ward soon who has autism which I am very excited about.
-I am only working with him after his school time so I am still needing a day job.
-I went to the first big concert since I was 14 with The Cab, Plain White T's, Dashboard Confessional and Panic At The Disco.
-I dog sat this past week during fall break and stayed the night by myself for the whole time I was there.
-I feel much more independent now.
-I am happy gas has gone down to 2.99 a gallon. It was 4.05 when I left for Australia.
-I am still needing that motivation to go to the gym.
-I am excited for Twilight to come out on November 21st.
So that's what up with me. What's up with you???

I'm home
Yesterday at I got in to the Phoenix airport at 1:40 after my 16 hour flight back home from Australia! I was so anxious to get off that plane and see my mom who was waiting for me just past sercurity. We hugged and she cried and it was the best feeling ever just to be home and take in all that Arizona heat. I was exhausted but that didn't stop us from getting a spicy chicken sandwich, which I was craving so badly, from Wendy's on the way home. Eventhough I was only gone for a month, it seemed like everything was different and I saw things that were always there but never took the time to notice it. It feels great being home and sleeping in my own bed and seeing my family and friends. I am so blessed to have parents who are willing to provide a trip like that for me. I cannot not thank them enough or be able to express that kind of love that I have for them for doing this for me.
I miss everyone in Australia. Everyone made my trip just that much more amazing. I loved getting to know everyone. I loved that I felt like I fit in. There wasn't any awkward hello's or feeling like I couldn't talk to someone. You have no idea how blessed I feel to have a family like you. The family was big and loud and though it might have been a tad overwhelming at times, I enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks to everyone who made me feel at home and making sure I was okay. And there will be a next time, oh yes, there will be a next time.
Until we meet again

Here wit the fam
So now here in Adelaide. The day that I got here Ellen, Georgia, Matt, Granny, Erin, Kelly and the boys came to meet me. That was pretty awesome. It has been wonderful here catching up with the family. We had a family dinner with everyone the first night. The second night I went up to Andy and Trish's house. We got a fiddle and I played a couple songs for them and then Andy taught me how to play the bohran. I was wicked cool. I think that my first purchase when I get back to the states will be a bohran. I then stayed with Granny Sunday night. It was a lovely stay and she is filled with many stories. I am staying at Auntie Gerri's tonight. We are gettin some pizza and havin a little girls night. I miss everyone. I will try and load up some pictures later. Muah!!!!

Here in Queensland!
I have left Sydney and have arr ivied in Queensland. It loved staying with Rebecca and Morgan. Their family is amazing! Erin and Kate and the babies made it even more enjoyable! I am now here in Queensland staying with Dinah (Uncle Andy and Trish's daughter). It has been so much fun so far.
When I got off the plane I assumed I would recognize Dinah when I saw her and just walk straight up to her with a big hug. But when I got off the plane, I looked around for a bit and saw someone who I thought was her but i wasn't sure and I could tell she was doing the same thing. Then we realized that we found the person we were looking for....EACH OTHER! Very funny first meeting but she has been so great to me. Dinah has been so good to me. Treating me as an actual member of the family pretty much. She is just great and sort of reminds me of my mama. :) It's great getting to know her.
We went up to Gold Coast yesterday and went to Surfer's Paradise which is any surfers dream. I put my feet in the softest sand I think I have ever felt and then put my feet in the water. We then went up to Q1, which was built for the Olympics. It is the tallest residential building in the world and is the 20th tallest building in the world. It was literally breathtaking. You feel almost dizzy looking out the glass windows upon the city. It took us 43 seconds to get up to the 77th floor and the same going down. Talk about fast. We then headed for home and I go to meet the kiddies. Kira, 10. Liam, 8 and Zali, 6. Talk about gorgeous kids.
Today we went to Tambourine Mountain. Talk about a great hiking place. It is a rain forest filled with huge overbearing trees and very lush and green. It has a little strip of shops that feel like a country town. Then we went to Southbank and went to see the Brisbane temple. Now that is a beautiful temple and it overlooks the river.
Tomorrow we are off to The Steve Erwin Park Zoo!!!! Yay!

A day in the city
Yesterday was a busy busy day. All of the family, except Morgan who had to work :(, went out for a day in the city. We all grabbed our bags and babies and headed off for a train ride to the city. I loved seeing the city full of life and people bustling around. It felt as if I were in New York except being in Sydney, Australia was much cooler. Instead of people playing the guitars, everyone played the digeridoo. It's been so interesting to compare Australia to Amereica. There are some similarites but it is for the most part, a completely different continent.
The Sydney Harbor Bridge was amazing. It waas so surreal. I felt as though I was looking at a painting. As we rounded the corner the Sydney Opera House was absoulutely beautiful. The design and architecture was so different looking at it up close rather than looking at a picture. As we looked inside the resaurant we saw a group a very prestine chefs having a little chat. Rebecca pointed out that one of them was a famous chef and owned the restaurant.
We then went to the Botanical Gardens and walked through a large tree of bats. It honestly looked like a horror movie only it was daytime so it wasn't nearly as scary.
We then went on a ferrie ride on the harbor. It was my first ferrie ride, so i thought I would get sick but to my surprise, I loved it. It was so free and relaxing. Though it was a bit cold, it was very peaceful. The day was just in plain old words, a fun day. I cannot wait to come again and explore even omore of the history and the beauty of Sydney. I got a good clear picture of the bridge and opera house together.
I know it's horrible to say but I think I want to live here. Sorry mum. How about we all move over here okay?
Love and miss everyone.

Nice relaxing day!
My third day in Australia. After a 14 hour flight, I got into Sydney airport around 8:00 am! Rebecca and Hannah met me at the airport and I was so releived to find them so quickly. I had a bit of trouble switching terminals and a long wait through customs. But it was worth it. I have loved being here. Camden is such a beautiful place eventhough it is cold and a bit rainy right now. Rebecca has been so kind and gracious to me, making sure my stay is extra special. The family has welcomed me with open arms and it's been so comforting. Everything is so different here. from the different name brands to driving on the other side of the road! Erin arrived yesterday and we all went into the city and watched Dark Knight in I-MAX! We then pretty much got harassed and cussed out by a scary hippie man who was angry because he didn't get the money he thought he deserved after doing fire tricks. haha, good times, good times. Today has been a relaxing day. Just cuddling up on the couch talking and watching the television. Kate, Sarah and Dane arrived today and it's been lovely. The babies are so cute. Many more good times to come. I'll keep you posted.
XOXO
P.S.- I miss you I miss you Scarlett household. Especially Mum and Dad. Oh and Aliza!

I'm goin' to the land down under
12 days. 12 days until I am off for the land down under. 12 days until I will get that unsettling feeling about being away from my family for so long. 12 days until I will have to brace myself for the 14 hour flight that lies in store for me. 12 days until I will be able to see family that I have waited for forever to meet and to give a big hug and kiss to. 12 days until I will be able to hear the beautiful accents of aussie men. 12 days until I will see new sights and create new memories that will last a lifetime. 12 days.... oh yes.... 12 days.

I had a "beachin" time
Gorgeous
So this past week was our family vacation to California. Sun, sand, and water are the three ingredients to make me happy. It was such a relaxing week and I loved every minute of it....well....almost. I loved going with my family and being able to share moments that will be remembered. I was bummed when we had to leave. Time had gone by so fast and one of the reasons that it went by so fast was because I didn't get burnt on the first day. The past years I have always gotten burnt on the first day. I am from Arizona, the state the brings on the heat, shouldn't I be immune to the sun? Well, the second to last day, I got burnt. And I only burnt on ONE leg. Seriously, one leg, what the crap. I put sunscreen on BOTH legs, how does that happen? So the next day I decided to even it out a bit so I didn't put any sunscreen on the leg that didn't get burnt and it ended up getting redder than the other one. So now I am stupid because it hurts and even more stupid because now I still have uneven colored legs. Other than that uneventful time of the trip, I think it was one of the best vacations ever. I am so greatful that I have parents who are willing to take family vacations. They are the times that I will remember forever and will be able to keep up the traditions that our family has created.

Parents are out of town
So everyone besides Liam and I went on the trek. Liam is over at his cousins house sleeping over and I am here by myself. Hmmm.....what to do what to do. Any fun and crazy teenager would say PARTY!!! But almost all of my freinds are also on the trek so it's a big loss there. I think I will go get some Yoko Fast Food (Japanese Restaraunt) cuddle up and watch Pride and Prejudice. After Pride and Prejudice I think I will go take a bath and read Twilight. After reading, I might just have a midnight snack and eat ice cream while watching re-runs of Will and Grace. I am such a party animal!

2008 Dominate!!!!
Done with HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally. I thought this day would never come. The wierd thing is that it hasn't even hit me yet. I went to the Wells Fargo Arena, walked across the stage, took my diploma, celebrated with silly string and I still feel as if I should be going to school tomorrow. After 12 years of learning, and teachers telling me that you that what we do now will reflect on what we do after high school is here. The day has passed and it's so surreal. I am on my way to bigger and better adventures. I am so excited yet so nervous at the same time.

This is what I do for fun
Before you see these, you should just know that this is my complete and total personality. I am crazy, I love to have fun and I don't really care what people think of me. My friends are, for the most part, the exact same. I will admit that I am a freak. I have a way too qurky sense of humor and these pictures are not what you would call normal.
Alright this one is a pretty normal. Although when us three get together, it is complete and utter mayhem. We are loud and obnoxious and the further you are away from us....the better.
So here is the deal with this picture. My friend Brooke decided one night at one of our many sleepovers, that she wanted to do my make-up. I told her "Sure, that would be awesome!" She told me to close my eyes and not open them until she was done. So I laid on the floor thinking of how cute this little make over would turn out to be. She kept saying "Oh my goodness, this is going to be so cute!" and "Oh i love this color on you." After she was done she told me "You have to promise me to let me do your make-up for prom." I thought well if she thinks it's good enough for prom then sure. As I looked in the mirror, I screamed in terror. This is the make-up she put on me!!! This of course meant that I had every right as a friend to do it back to her. In the end she was a lioness and I somewhat resembled to Golum (from Lord of the Rings).

E.F.Y
Especially For Youth
This past summer, I went to E.F.Y. at Northern Arizona University. It's such an amazing church program. Every time I go there, I always come back feeling like a different person. I learn so much from the scriptures and make new friends. I feel a lot more confident in being able to share my testimony with others. The boys aren't I meet aren't too bad either. I always have a blast with the friends I go with. This year was my last year and it was by far the best year ever!!! I roomed with my best friend Brooke, and I don't think there was a time that we weren't laughing or smiling about something (besides the spiritual meetings of course.)

Workin it
A few weeks ago I, Caitlin Scarlett, got a job. I had worked previously at Gelato Premio which is an Italian Ice Cream Shop. It was torture for me to look at the ice cream and not be tempted to eat it, plus my bosses were a bit on the coo coo side so I quit. I got a job at a childcare center at the gym I go to. It's been an wild ride so far. It's taught me a lot of patience which is a good thing because when I start having kids I need that patience to keep from going crazy.
This past Saturday I was watching this little boy who is regularly there because his mom works at the gym. I saw him fighting with another boy and told him to stop. When he didn't I told him a very kind voice to come over to me so I could talk to him. He slowly came over with a very angry look on his face. As I tried to ask him why he was fighting, out of nowhere, HE PUNCHES ME IN THE FACE!!!! I got a fat lip from a little 4 1/2 year old. I told one of the girls I work with to go get his mom and let's just say after his mom had a talk with him, he came and apologized. That little boy is as sweet to me as ever now.
It's been fun working there but sometimes I just have to stop myself and think why? This little girl came to me with pooh all over her behind and I found a whole other mess in the bathroom. A baby burped up his whole dinner on my shirt. A little boy asked me when I was gonna have my baby. And a couple days ago he accidentally ran into my stomach and when I said "ouch", he asked if he had hurt the baby at all. I have watched Aladdin more than 20 times in the past 3 weeks. I think I might be going deaf from all the kids screaming and yelling at each other eventhough they are only a few feet apart.
All in all my job is pretty great though. I have really good hours and MOST of the kids I watch are pretty dang cute.
