So...I'm here in Hawaii and life is good. I was supposed to get here on the 31st but things didn't go exactly as planned. I woke up at 4:30am and got everything together then headed out with my mum and dad to the airport. After saying our goodbyes I went through security and waited at gate 5 for the HA35, 8am flight, to Honolulu. After buying a water bottle from the gift store I headed back and found a whole bunch of people frazzled with disappointing looks on their faces. I asked the man closest to me what was going on and he said that there was a 6-8 hour delay! I quickly called my mum asking what I should do. I was going to stick it out but that only lasted till noon because of the fact that my plane was now supposed to leave at 9pm. I politely asked the assistants at the desk if I could change my flight to the next day. Surprisingly the lady said that there was only one seat left! Let's just say that the Lord blesses us more than I will ever be able to comprehend. I spent he rest of the afternoon sleeping and had a very relaxing new year's eve. I woke up New Years Day and headed out on my flight. Lucky for me there was a girl that I new back when I was young who was also going to school there. When we arrived we found our transportation easily and arrived to campus.
I will never take the beauty of this earth for granted again. It is so lush and green here. Heavenly Father ceases to amaze me with the beauty He has surrounded me with. I cannot believe I'm here. It's like I'm in a dream, not making it to a full reality yet.
I miss my family but I know at this time, this is where I am supposed to be. In a blessing given to me, I was told that the places I saw and the people I met would be familiar and I can honestly say that I feel the familiarity. I know I am going to love it here and live this experience to the fullest.
Pictures coming soon. Loves all around!

....
I have been saying that for the past couple years but this time I have motivation......HAWAII! Starting Monday July 26th I'm kicking my butt into shape. I hate feeling self conscious about the way my body looks. I'm 20 years old and I feel like this issue is holding me back from being a 20 year old! I go through what everyone else probably goes through which involves keeping an eating and exercising routine for a while but then skipping one day and it all falls apart. Then getting back into it seems so much more difficult.
The goal for my weight loss is not about becoming a size 2. I want some curves and to look healthy. I just want to feel comfortable with myself. I have a lot of "goal" clothes in my closet and hopfully by the end of this year those clothes will be coming off the hanger.
First off, I have to commit. I mean really really commit to the program I'm going to stick to so I wrote it on my calendar in pen which I can't erase. I have combined a lot of different exercises and most of it involves a program called Insanity. This truly insane workout is every other day while other exercises like yoga, pilate's, running and weight lifting are in between.
And second, I need to concentrate on eating healthy. I have a hard time with over eating. I swear my stomach is like a bottomless pit. I don't know how many times I've said "Only a couple of these and that's it", then ending up going back for more and more. Everything is fine in moderation and portion size. I just have to keep that in mind whenever I eat. I am also staying away from the candy and junk. One piece of dark chocolate a night is it!
I will post before and after pics once I take them. I'm excited to start and will keep posting on the progress and any new recipes or workouts I find along the way!

It's official

I got accepted to BYU Hawaii about a month ago and had been debating if I should go or not. You may be thinking what's there to debate though right?
It scares me to be away from home. I find comfort here. I fear I would miss my family too much and would not be able to survive without them. I am going to be on my own which I haven't really done before. I'm going to have to make wise decisions on my own without help from my parents. But I know if I don't go, I will regret it when I'm older. I mean how many people really get to say that they went to school in Hawaii?
I'm going for winter term in January so I have a lot of time to prepare. It's only for a semester and then I plan on coming back. It has taken me a long time to figure out what I want to major in but for now I'm majoring in International Cultural Studies. And what place is more perfect for that?

Weekend Trip
This weekend, a few friends and I headed to the woods for a girls trip. It was so fun catching up with everyone and spending time together. It reminded me of the good old times we spent together at the lunch table in high school and the sleepovers we used to have. I missed it. I hope there are more times like these to come.

Are you ready to rock?
Last night I had the chance to go see a true rock concert. My dad got tickets to see Styx, REO Speedwagon and 38 Special. He also had a spare set of tickets so he invited Mike and Kaitlyn Rogers. Let me just start off by saying that it was unbelievable! All of them sounded amazing. It was so fun rocking out with my dad singing "Renegade" and "Come Sail Away" together. I loved it!

Road Trip!
This past weekend my friend Brooke and I went on our first road trip together without any supervision or a set plan. We left friday night and stayed at my cousin Ali's house, then headed off in the morning to California. We were so excited at we crossed the border and waved goodbye to Arizona. We arrived at the San Onofre State Beach and basked in the sun for a few hours. The sun felt so nice on my face and I love hearing the waves crash down as I relaxed on the sand. We then went to the pier and had a nice stroll watching the sunset and seeing the surfers catch waves. Towards the end of the day we still had no clue where we were going to stay for the night. We tried seeing if there were camping spots but they were full and getting a hotel room for $50 bucks for one night was not worth it. We ended up sleeping in Brookes car at a lot for RV's at Oceanside Beach. We had a blast and it felt awesome having a sense of adventure. If I could, I would travel cross country and live out of my car. One day....maybe.
